Is it just Me?

The other day I noticed the navigation button 'Next Blog' at the top of the screen. So I clicked on it. And it loaded another blog which was in Chinese. I clicked on it again and it loaded another blog in Spanish. I clicked on it again and it loaded another blog in French. I continued clicking through a whirl-wind tour of the globe as I was whisked from one foreign language to another. After about 15 minutes I came across a blog that, to my shocked surprise, was written in English! But it was by a lady living in Australia talking about geological surveys. Finally, something I could read but it was all about dirt. Pressing the 'Next Blog' button is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get.

While I was visiting other blogs I noticed that I seem to have a cave-man-ish type blog. I don't have pictures or fancy counters or slide shows. I don't have some nifty background or artistic layout. My posts are long-winded. And I started wondering to myself ... am I writing anything of interest to anyone? Is there some Chinese lady on the other side of the world clicking through blogs, coming across mine and thinking to herself, "oh, just another American with diarrhea of the brain!" and then clicking the 'Next Blog' button to get away from my page in hopes of finding something else written in Chinese that might interest her?

i like your blog... and frufru stuff is good sometimes - but not required. my friend used to put cute frufru up but now she's stopped blogging almost all together and all that's up is a 6 month ago pic of her baby and a bunch of craft stuff.

i like to hear what you have to say - and i love the way you put words on paper. it's a great read. i think you have to ask yourself... for what purpose am i blogging. if it's to keep people updated (like me) then pics, fru fru a must... if it's a way to journal - then i'd let my background be whatever i was most comfortable with.

i like change. that's why i change my banner all the time (i also have lots of time) and stuff like that - but i think... if it works for you. go with it.
